On the golf course, I’ve been pretty frustrated with balls going right lately. About 2 weeks ago, I started placing trail thumb over the club to have a more foundational group instead of along top of it. I’ve really struggled to shut the face.

I spent some time doing some drills with the Hack Motion to ensure the lead wrist is flexed at impact. With a weak grip that has the trail hand attached to the club properly, I don’t think I’ve ever actually felt how much extension is required in the trail wrist until today. To the point that after 50-ish swings, that trail wrist is tired.

There is a strong correlation between wrist flexion used with irons and fairway woods, and the ball flying straight.

I've not found the same correlation with driver. I think the gear effect is the reason why. The ball flies flight is distracted by more than face / path relationship when hit it out of different parts of the club face.
